Kodak's
Light Valve Technology -LVT- film recorder is the
highest resolution output device for recording digital
data onto continuous tone professional color film.
It can actually resolve at more lines per mm than
the film can render. It goes up to 120 pixels per
mm, which is 3024 pixels per inch over an 8x10 area.
A digital file at that resolution would exceed 2 Gigabytes.
The LVT uses a highly controlled closed loop calibration
to insure accurate tonal reproduction. We're confident
that this is the highest quality output available
today from your digital files.
We accept RGB PhotoShop and other raster files for
direct output. We can rasterize your Illustrator,
Freehand, Quark XPress or Pagemaker input but we need
hardcopy, fonts, and an extra day. This film recorder
also needs digital RGB (Red, Green, Blue) files, so
don't spec CMYK, Process or Pantone colors, and expect
good color match.
